Reading the Psalms

When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion,
we were like them that dream
Then was our mouth filled with laughter
and our tongue with singing:
then said they among the heathen,
"The Lord hath done great things for them."
The Lord has done great things for us
and we are filled with joy
Psalm 126: 1,2,3

"The Lord has done great things for us"
And for us too
Let us be filled with joy
Let us taste laughter and singing on our tongue
Lord, you have done great things for us
You have blessed us with good things to eat
You have blessed us with homes to live in
You have blessed us with health this day
And strength to praise your name
We praise you

You are the King of Glory

Lord, help me to be open and bare before You
help me to be trusting of you
Lord, You are a strong tower
help me to trust in Your name,
to lean on Your name

I have been vulnerable before too many others
with too much disappointment
I have been at their feet and too often trampled
- intentionally or unintentionally
Lord, You will not mistreat or misunderstand
my affections or my vulnerability
You will not take advantage or take for granted
the love I give

The Lord is gracious and compassionate,
slow to anger and rich in love.
The Lord is good to all;
he has compassion on all he has made
(Psalm145:8,9 NIV)

Lord, You are constantly showing me ways that you love me
Constantly reassuring me through Your Word
that You are with me and will be with me

Lord, You are loving and generous with your love
You show me in ways that I can understand
through acts of love
through words of encouragement and love
through time spent

Thank You Lord, for your loving kindness toward me
Thank You for waiting patiently
while I ran to every one's door trying to ply my wares
When I only had to open the door of my heart
- and the King of Glory shall come in

Who is the King of glory?
The Lord strong and mighty
The Lord, mighty in battle (Psalm 24:8)
